MY FIRST ORGONITE PENDANT
My mother introduced me to Orgonite jewelry when I was in my forties. I had my daughter late in life. She was born when I was 35 and while I was just starting to raise my child, most of my friends children were grown and getting ready to have their own babies. She helped babysit when I was working and presented me with my first handmade orgonite pendant jewelry on one of our visits.
It was quite different but uniquely attractive. It would give the wearer many benefits because of the special ingredients it was made of. Resin, crystals and metal shavings. My first piece was green, with copper curly cues that were formed into the shape of a star. There was a story behind it as usual with my mother, God bless her soul!!!
WHAT IS ORGONE?
Orgone is a term that represents life force or energy. Kind of like CHI. The term was coined by Dr Wilhelm Reich who created the Orgone Institute back in 1942. He devoted much of his life researching this energy field and how it could be used to benefit mankind if it could be harnessed.
He even built a machine called the Orgone Accumulator and was trying to prove that this energy could be used for healing the body and diseases. But the FDA shot him down and had him jailed as a quack. All of his research was destroyed and he died penniless and broken-hearted in jail.
His work fell to the wayside and it wasn’t until years later that a new group of scientists picked up where he left off. A new foundation was formed in 1982, the Institute for Orgonomic Science. The benefits of orgone energy are not recognized by modern day medicine or the physical sciences, but is much more accepted in the esoteric world.
Mom was always encouraging me to try something new. She pointed out that I could learn how to make this jewelry and started emailing me information on it. Orgonite is composed of the following ingredients: resin, crystals and metal shavings.
I started ordering the necessary supplies. My basement would provide a good workbench area and the belco door leading to the outside offered good ventilation. (When resin is heated it gives off fumes and is highly flammable.) The premise of mixing these ingredients together was using living and dead matter. Resin represents the living matter and metal being dead matter. By combining these ingredients together in a certain way it would create a positive energy and life flow.
I used baking tins of various shapes for the molds. Copper scrubbing pads cut into little pieces were used for the metal, and crystal gemstones were added for energy. Also, just like a transformer uses copper to conduct electricity, each piece I made had a copper curly cue carefully handwound in a circle. After all the pieces were placed in a mold, I heated the resin and poured it into the molds. When they dried, I used a dremel to drill a hole. Then I made a copper wire loop to string the cord and form necklace. Black and gold cords were used to drape them around your neck. I used natural brown resin and clear white resin; crystals, seashells, pennies and more! I sold them at craft shows and gifted them to friends. It was a fun hobby and I still wear my handmade orgonite jewelry today.
BENEFITS OF ORGONITE
Besides being pretty and creating positive energy, the real benefits of Orgonite can be found in the way it protects against EMF’s, or Electro Magnetic Frequencies. In the highly technical world we live in, with cell phone towers and all kinds of radiation being emitted, we as humans are very sensitive to this.
And it’s not just the towers but everything around us that we use, from our cell phones and laptops to the microwave we cook with daily. The scientific community has classified these frequencies as a human carcinogen and can effect the quality of our thoughts and mental focus.
Orgonite has become very popular in assisting people with migraines, stress and anxiety. I know when I am wearing mine, I always have piece of mind and feel less stressful. I have them all around my house, little pyramids strategically placed to block the negative effects of computer devices and create a peaceful harmonious living space with positive energy. Whether you wear it as jewelry or prefer pyramid devices, you can definitely feel the positive effects of Orgonite.
ORGONITE FOR YOU
There is such an abundance of handmade orgonite jewelry available today. I have found that Amazon has a great selection. What is important to you? Do you want to attract abundance to your life or are you looking for protection? Simply by adding an elephant (which represents abundance) or the Eye of Horus (for protection), you can focus on these qualities with your orgonite mixture. I am a big fan of Arte Orgones, which are handmade by an artisan in Chili. They really do a nice job! Their pieces are exquisite and reasonably priced. My favorite is the elephant which is combined with the 7 stones representing our 7 Chakras. The stones included are lapis, lazuli, amethyst, citrine, carnelian, malachite and coral.
Chakras are energy centers located within the body and each energy center is represented by a different color. This traces back to the esoteric teachings of Hinduism. It is believed that all disease stems from a block in one of your energy fields. For example, if you have stomach issues, it was because your solar plexus was blocked, or that energy field was blocked. Then you would add more yellow to your body in someway, maybe by fruit, flower or stone. The chakras and their related colors are:
- Root Chakra (Red Color)
- Sacral Chakra (Orange Color)
- Solar Plexus Chakra (Yellow Color)
- Heart Chakra (Green Color)
- Throat Chakra (Blue Color)
- Third Eye Chakra (Indigo Color)
- The Crown Chakra (Violet Color)
Whether you are looking to create a positive energy field or focus on the positive attributes of certain gemstones, you really should give orgonite a try. I am a firm believer that thoughts create our reality and if we are not happy or feeling well, there is always something we can do to try to make things better. Isn’t that what life’s about? Exploring new ways of thinking and doing; challenging old ways and beliefs. Sometimes I wonder if it’s the stones that do the healing, or the belief in the stones that gives it the power of intention. Do your own research and see for yourself if this is something you might want to add to your collection.
